Overcoming Deficit

As the whistle blew to start the 2013 Men’s Division 1 Championship Game, the Duke Blue Devils had caught a case of the gitters.  You could tell Duke’s game play in the championship round was odd from the way they came out of the gates and onto the field.  Although Duke was relying on the fact that they had the strongest player, Fowler, they fell to a 5-0 deficit in the first 15 minutes of play.  By half time, the Blue Devils were able to rally back to a 6-5 score with Syracuse leading by one goal.

Once the second half started it didn’t take long for Duke to take the lead.  With Fowler winning 20 out of 28 face-offs during the match, the Blue Devils were able to push harder and challenge Syracuse in order to come out with a beautiful product.  The Blue Devils pulled off a 16-10 win over Syracuse resulting in obtaining their second National Championship. Fowler was able to turn the game around; he had an outstanding performance and was named the tournaments Most Outstanding Player.

If you want to see outstanding results, next time you step out on the lacrosse field make sure you have the right lacrosse equipment.  Gared Sports has a range of cages to offer from a recreational back yard goal, to a professional goal with a 4-inch flat plate bottom to secure cage in all weather conditions!
